This limited edition timepiece is within a collection to commemorate the 145th Anniversary of the beginnings of Seiko as a Tokyo clock and watch repair shop in 1881.
From the Alpinist collection, first launched in 1959, these watches were originally designed for Japanese ‘Yama-otoko’ mountain men, to be reliable in treacherous terrain. In keeping with the collection’s adventurous spirit, this timepiece features a rotating compass bezel and is water resistant to 20 bar/200 metres.
This limited edition features a dial colour known as ‘Edo Murasaki’ or ‘Edo Purple’ which is a traditional Japanese colour that symbolises hope for the future, and the refined beauty of the Edo period in Tokyo.
‘Cathedral style’ hour and minute hands are accompanied by classic Arabic numerals and wedge-shaped indices with the traditional Alpinist logo under the Seiko logo, which featured on the very first 1950s Laurel Alpinist. The dial is protected by sapphire glass with an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface for enhanced clarity and legibility.
The case back features a Limited Edition engraving alongside the ‘Mountain Device’ logo, an aspect of the first design indicating the field nature of the watch. The stainless steel case has an applied super-hard coating for increased scratch resistance and shine. It is paired with an LWG-approved black leather strap with purple stitching.
The in-house automatic 6R55 calibre accurate to -15/+25 seconds per day, a recent advance in Seiko in-house automatic timekeeping with its excellent power reserve of 72 hours (3 full days) once fully wound, beating at 21,600 vph, equipped with 24 jewels.
Prospex is a combination of the words ‘Professional’ and ‘Specifications.’ Seiko Prospex timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable; to meet the high standards required in extreme environments for sports lovers and adventure seekers alike.

Delivery Information
Our orders are dispatched using Royal Mail and Parcelforce. We aim to dispatch all orders received by 2pm the same day. Should we experience an unexpected delay we will contact you regarding the delivery.
We use Royal Mail 2nd class, Royal Mail 2nd class Signed for (Recorded Delivery), Royal Mail Special Delivery and Parcelforce 48Express. The nature of the item, its weight, its size and its value determine which service is used.
All items will be delivered to the address provided. It is the purchasers responsibility to ensure the address is both accurate and correct.
A signature may be required on delivery.
If there is nobody at home to accept delivery of your parcel when it is delivered, you should receive a ‘missed delivery’ postcard through your letterbox. Please follow the instructions carefully as this will explain where to go to collect your parcel and the necessary documentation to take with you (usually the postcard and proof of your identification).
Uncollected parcels will be returned to us (the sender) as undelivered after 18 days.
What happens if my delivery does not arrive?
Very occasionally deliveries go wrong. If your order does not arrive please contact us preferably by phone 01244 325834 or alternatively by email sales@rigbyjewellers.co.uk and we will try our best to resolve the situation.
Damaged Deliveries.
Rigby Jewellers make every effort to ensure each order leaves us in perfect condition. Should your parcel arrive damaged, when signing for the delivery please sign the receipt as damaged and retain all the packaging. Please contact us preferably by telephone on 01244 325834 or by email sales@rigbyjewellers.co.uk immediately so that we can rectify the situation for you as soon as possible.

Returns Information
We offer a 14 day returns policy.Customers have up to 14 days after the goods dispatch date in which to return items for a refund.
Essentially, all items must be returned in a new and unused condition with all labels and tags attached complete with any accessories or manuals along with the original packaging intact so that the item is in a completely re-sellable condition.You must also include a copy of the original invoice along with the reason for the refund.
Any goods returned with original packaging damaged, or in any way inferior, will not qualify for a refund.
